Origins & Vision
CHRIST University originated from the vision of St Kuriakose Elias Chavara, a 19th-century educationalist and social reformer. He founded the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in 1831.
Christ College — 1969
Established as Christ College in 1969, the institution pioneered innovative curricula, academic discipline, holistic education, and global best practices.
Autonomy & Accreditation
UGC granted Autonomy in 2004 and recognized the institution as an Institute with Potential for Excellence in 2006. Declared a Deemed to be University in 2008.
Accredited by NAAC — currently holds an A+ Grade and ranked #60 in NIRF 2024.
